Join Our Board! We're Looking for a Secretary
Position Title: Secretary
Organization: Nose Creek Players

Reports To: Board of Directors
Position Summary
The Secretary plays a vital administrative role in supporting the smooth operation of Nose Creek Players, a not-for-profit community theatre organization. The Secretary is responsible for maintaining accurate records, managing board communications, and ensuring effective documentation of organizational activities.
Key Responsibilities
Board Support & Governance

Record and distribute accurate minutes of all board meetings.

Maintain and update organizational records, bylaws, and policies.

Prepare agendas and documentation in coordination with the Board of Directors
Communication

Act as the central point of contact for board correspondence.

Send notices of meetings and maintain a calendar of events and important deadlines.

Support internal communications between board members, staff, and committees.
Documentation & Records

Maintain official records and files, including meeting minutes, legal documents, and membership lists.

Oversee the safe storage of electronic and paper records
Compliance
-
Support compliance with privacy, confidentiality, and archival standards.

Support the organization in upholding applicable legislation and not-for-profit governance best practices, in alignment with the Board of Governance Director
Qualifications

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Familiarity with not-for-profit governance and operations (preferred but not required).

Proficiency with common office software (e.g., Google Workspace or Microsoft Office).

A passion for community arts and theatre.
